History

Established in 1965, St. Andrew’s Nursery and Kindergarten, is a non-profit organization under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey. Children of all religious faiths are welcome, and throughout the year, they are exposed to a variety of traditions and cultures. The school is licensed by the state of New Jersey and is an active member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. St. Andrew's serves children from Union, Morris, and Somerset counties, including the surrounding communities of New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Chatham, Summit, Madison, Scotch Plains, Warren and Watchung. All are welcome.

Nursery School Advisory Board

The Nursery School Advisory Board of St. Andrew's was created in January, 1991 to oversee the conduct and the financial affairs of St. Andrew's Nursery School and Kindergarten. Meetings are held monthly. The Board consists of committees including Long Range Planning, Scholarship/Outreach, Facilities Management and Nominating. A copy of the bylaws of the Board is available for review in the school office. Any questions regarding the Nursery School Advisory Board should be forwarded to the school director.

The primary function of the Nursery School Advisory Board is to oversee the conduct of business and financial affairs of the school. Authority for the direction of school life—including the academic, moral, physical aspects, and authority for the conduct of business and financial affairs—is delegated by the rector with the advice and consent of the vestry to the board of trustees of the school.
